    1. John 7:10-13
      1. Why is their controversy in the crowd about Jesus’ identity and reputation?
      2. Calvin read a story about 2 pastors and how they handled criticism differently. How did they handle it differently?
      3. Calvin said, “I can never go back to letting people’s expectations dictate my course.” — How does that apply to your life?
      4. Our master is either our ego, people’s expectations, or God. How do these determine how we act?
    2. John 7:14-18
      1. What’s the difference between spiritual authority and worldly authority?
      2. Where does Jesus’ spiritual authority come from? ( His relationship with the Heavenly Father)
      3. How will a secure relationship with the Heavenly Father give you a foundation and authority to guide your life and resist criticisms?
      4. How do you build that spiritual authority/foundation? (Time with God: Prayer, Reading the Bible, Prayer, Fasting, etc.)
    3. John 7:19-24
      1. Before we can judge others rightly, we must view ourselves rightly. When we allow other people’s expectations to control us, it reproduces that in the way we look at people. How does having a healthy spiritual foundation with God the Father make us view and judge others rightly?
