    1. John 7:1
      1. At the beginning of Ch. 6 more than 5,000 wanted to follow Jesus. Now in verse one of Ch. 7 the majority want to have Jesus killed. Calvin said, When people learn Jesus’ true identity they either hate him, ignore him, or believe make him Lord of their life. How do you see this in people’s responses to Jesus? 
    2. John 7:2
      1. Calvin explained the 3 major Jewish festivals Sunday. How do you think having these festivals each year solidified the Jews identity and helped them in their relationship with God?
      2. How could we have set times in the year that do the same for us?
    3. John 7:3-5
      1. Read Mark 6:3. — How many siblings did Jesus have that are stated?
      2. Who is a younger sibling? How can you relate to the brothers response to Jesus?
    4. John 7:6-9
      1. Jesus had to obey his calling and purpose even when his family didn’t understand and mocked him. How have you had to do this in your own life when people disagreed?
      2. Calvin said, “Following him is more important that pleasing you.” How does this apply to our relationships with people and family?
      3. What struggles have you had with family or friends who don’t believe and disagree with you following Jesus?
      4. Thought James originally doubts and is one of these mocking Jesus, who does James become after Jesus’ death and resurrection.
      5. Because Jesus stayed true to his calling and purpose, James’ life eventually was transformed and he too became a follower and leader for Jesus. How have you seen similar changes in people around you as you stay faithful to Jesus? 
      6. Who are you praying for in your family to know and follow Jesus?
