  1. Introduction:
    1. Icebreaker or Game
    2. Intro Video/Sermon Recap. (If video doesn’t work you can do your own brief summary the same way.)
  2. Read & Discussion Questions:
    1. John 6:30-40
      1. How does Jesus use the earthly substance of bread to explain a deeper spiritual need within humanity?
      2. What are some other examples of earthly thing Jesus uses to explain spiritual realities? (Living Water, Born Again, etc)
    2. John 6:41-51
      1. Jesus explains that his “bread” is his flesh which he will give for the world. How does communion remind us of this?
      2. In these verses, we see an inseparable connection between Jesus and God the Father. He is saying that anyone who has the heavenly Father also has Jesus, and on the reverse, anyone who doesn’t accept Jesus doesn’t have the earthly Father. Why would this be so offensive to the Jews and how is it still offensive to many people today?
    3. John 6:52-58
      1. Just as we have an earthly need for food and drink to survive, Jesus explains that we have a deeper spiritual need that only he can satisfy. How do people try to fill this longing in there life with others things?
      2. Jesus says that as “I live because of the Father so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.” What does it mean to you that as Jesus was sustained by the Father we are supposed to be sustained by Jesus?
    4. John 6:60-71
      1. At the beginning of chapter 6 more than 5,000 wanted to follow Jesus and make him their King. At the end of chapter 6, only the 12 disciples are left. What happened and what does this teach us about true disciples of Jesus?
      2. How does Peter’s response to Jesus show us what our response to Jesus should be?
